Rouge Necklace

This art nouveau necklace shows off a lovely red mid-century Cherry Brand Japanese glass cabochon.

We were beside ourselves with joy when we discovered these cabochons wrapped in their original tissue paper, sealed with an orange sakura blossom label. 

The distinctive label revealed their identity as Cherry Brand glass which was manufactured in Osaka, Japan during the American occupation after WWII.

The Art Nouveau brass stamping hanging from the cabochon was carved in the early 20th century.

• Glass & goldstone lampworked Cherry Brand cabochon made in Japan between 1945 & 1951
• Two brass stampings made today in the USA in antique dies
• Czech glass bead chain & antiqued brass chain
• Length is 16" with a 4" extender
