The New Cordelia Necklace
The innovative setting we used in this design enabled us to use two large buttons in one pendant necklace resulting in a reversible design that’s a first for us.
One side features a hand-pressed Czech glass button made today using century-old processes. We chose the mold and the colors for this button during a visit to the Czech Republic and adore how it turned out. You can read about this incredible art and our Bohemian adventure on A Passion for Czech Glass on our Buttonology Blog.
On the flip side of this necklace is a one-of-a-kind antique celluloid wafer button. Celluloid was discovered in the 1860s during a failed attempt to manufacture ivory-free billiard balls.
Wafer buttons are distinguished by layers of green, tan, brown, and black celluloid, each with a different carved pattern.
Please note that every wafer button is a one and only so yours will not look exactly like the one in the photo.
