Octopus’s Garden Collectible PlateRegular price $56.00
The plates in this release are all ocean-themed, an homage to post-pandemic beach vacations we all hope to take.
We took one look at this elegant octopus lounging among the rust-red roses, and Ringo Starr’s bouncy lyrics to Octopus Garden began playing in our heads.
This early 20th-century English bone china plate was made by the Samuel Radford company of Fenton, England. The plates we used for this design have two different back marks and two different names - Victorian and Imari. You will receive one or the other and both are very collectible.
We hand-pressed a 19th-century natural history illustration of an octopus onto the plate.
Our founder, Susan Davis, is a zealous collector of all things old, beautiful and interesting. While button hunting, she often other collectibles she cannot bear to leave behind and this is how we amassed a substantial collection of antique and vintage china plates.
Your plate will be one of only five in the world created with this image.
