Bollywood On The Bayou Bag
This limited edition vintage fabric bag was handmade in Louisiana by Carol Ridenour, who launched her textile company, called Pheobe Rose, after retiring from her career as a medical doctor.
This fall, Grandmother’s Buttons founder, Susan Davis, a perennial collector, visited Carol's studio and shared the fabric collection she's accumulated over decades of hunting for antique buttons.
The fabric for this bag came from Susan's mother Miriam. The vintage embroidered and sequined textile on the outside of the bag is complemented by a charming printed cotton lining made in the 1950s.
The top edge of the bag is garnished with a lovely ornate beaded trim Susan found many years ago in the New York garment district.
Grandmother’s Buttons added a removable brooch made from a vintage beaded button and a large brass stamping made today in the USA with vintage dies.
Your bag will be one of only three in the world.
