Lavender & Goldstone EarringsRegular price $28.00
We were so thrilled when we discovered the vintage, lavender & goldstone glass ovals in these earrings.
Goldstone glass was invented by the Venetians in the 17th century by heating silica and copper oxide until metallic crystals form. The process was perfected by Czech and German glass artisans in the early 20th century.
Sadly, this trade is uncommon today and goldstone glass is becoming hard to find.
In this piece:
- Two vintage lavender & goldstone glass drops, made in West Germany, circa 1950
- Two small Austrian crystals
- Stamped brass settings made today in the USA in vintage dies
- Nickel-free & lead-free brass kidney wire closures
- Hangs 1 1/2”
