Aphrodite Necklace

This sumptuous statement necklace features five vintage cameos, their profiles of Victorian and classical women echoing centuries of tradition — from gods and myths carved in precious stone by the Greeks and Romans, to the more sentimental, accessible shell cameos beloved in the Victorian era.

Our cameos are all mid-20th century: the two medium-sized pieces are Czechoslovakian glass, while the two smaller cameos and the large center drop are resin, made in Japan. Each one was hand-selected over two decades of searching the basements and attics of old jewelry warehouses in New York's garment district and Providence, Rhode Island.
